Howdy- My name is Sophia and I am currently based out of Crested Butte Colorado, originally from Boise Idaho.  I would like to start by saying that labeling myself as a photographer and artist is a difficult and complicated thing to do.  To paint a clearer picture; I am a student, a friend, a daughter, a partner and an outdoor enthusiast, which can all be seen throughout my work.  

To be very clear, my first and foremost love is photography as it allows me creative freedom and constantly challenges me. Growing up in Idaho, I have been blessed with being surrounded by mountainous landscapes, a vast majority of outstanding wildlife and a wide selection of outdoor recreation areas.   This has allowed me to explore my favorite types of photography throughout the years while also giving me access to the numerous other hobbies I like to participate in such as fly fishing, skiing, hiking, rafting and more!  

Not only has my love and passion for the outdoors influenced my photography, but my outlook on life and art as well. Drawing, painting and graphic design are other hobbies of mine that I am extremely passionate about.  When I am not working on a photography project or have my camera strapped to my hip you can most often than not find me doodling or coming up with new designs. Both allow me an amazing outlet to practice staying present, expressing my emotions and simply illustrate how I see the world; colorful and constantly challenging me. 

I would say my biggest goal with both of my mediums is to simply get people to fall in love with the outdoors all over again in a new, exciting and colorful way.  I really want to encourage folks to slow down. Whether that be to admire the beautiful wildflowers hiding on a hillside, the intricate details within nature or a beautifully painted sunset, I hope my work inspires you to get creative, curious or simply brings a smile to your face!
